Yiinthi Huntsman

How god damn sexy is this huntsman spider? It’s from a genus called Yiinthi and to be honest, there’s not a huge amount known about them, aside from the fact that they have gorgeous patterns and are bloody massive – this guy was easily bigger than my hand!

This particular species is undescribed but is probably similar to the Chillagoe Cave Huntsman (Yiinthi chillagoe), as it makes its home on rocky outcrops in Australia’s Top End. Like all huntsman spiders, they’re not dangerous to humans, and will pose no threat to you unless you pose a threat to it.

Side note: Definitely not the most important issue in the world right now, but can we stop referring to paedophiles as ‘rock spiders’? This is a rock spider and it’s fucking awesome. Stop giving rock spiders a bad name.
