It should go without saying that this post isn’t for arachnophobes. But if you don’t mind our eight-legged friends, then strap yourselves in and hold on for a wild ride – LIKE THESE HUNDREDS OF BABY SPIDERS ARE DOING!
Yep.
So human parents tend to only have one baby at a time, and usually they put it down or get someone else to look after it when they need to do something. Not only this, but they’ll even have the nerve to complain that raising a child is a lot of work 🙄
The female wolf spider puts human parents to shame. She will lay up to 100 eggs and carry them around in a silk sac until they are ready to hatch. Once hatched, she will then continue to carry all of the baby spiders around on her back, 24 hours a day, until they reach maturity – and she won’t even stop going about her daily business in order to do so. She’ll continue to hunt, eat and sleep, all while carrying around and looking after those clingy kids.
So to all the parents out there, next time you wake up at 3am to the sound of your crying baby, feel free to pull up this post and console yourself with the comforting knowledge that you aren’t a wolf spider.
