Three-Toed Sloth

We interrupt regular programming to bring you some extremely important news…

I SAW A SLOTH!

And not just one sloth… it was a mother sloth and A BABY SLOTH!

Those who know me well know that I’m just a little bit obsessed with sloths. They’ve been my favourite animal for as long as I can remember but until recently I’d never seen one in the wild. I damn near fell out of our dugout canoe when I spotted these gorgeous creatures.

I’ll put together an enormous series on sloths at some point in the future when I have a few more photos of them – I have an absolute treasure trove of sloth facts hidden away in the back of my brain.

But for now, please enjoy this absolutely beautiful baby sloth climbing through the canopy in the jungles of the Peruvian Amazon.

PS. Can you spot mum keeping a watchful eye in the background? 👀
