This magnificent creature is one of two lions at Melbourne Zoo.

I don’t typically photograph animals in captivity, but I make exceptions for organisations that I believe are doing important work. Melbourne Zoo works tirelessly on a range of projects from conservation to anti-extinction. While an ideal world would be one in which no animal was held captive, sometimes complex issues require pragmatic solutions.
