Green-Eyed Tree Frog

This astonishing amphibian is the Green-Eyed Tree Frog. Found in the rainforests of Northern Queensland, these masters of disguise are best known for their incredible colours, patterns and textures – plus their eye structures are utterly mesmerising.

This species of frog was also the catalyst for one of the most remarkable evolutionary stories I’ve ever heard, one that resulted in an entirely new species evolving in just 7,000 years – the blink of an eye on evolutionary time scales.

We wrote a whole post about it! Check it out here.
