These two beautiful Asian elephants are part of a family of six at Melbourne Zoo. Melbourne Zoo is a world-leader in animal conservation and their herd of Asian elephants is no exception.
In the wild, elephants live in matriarchal groups, with females staying in their herd their entire lives. Males, on the other hand, leave the herd and begin a life of solitude around the age of 12. Asian elephants can live up to 80 years of age, and are among the most intelligent species in the animal kingdom.
